Mike G – Francis Chan would agree with you – I do too – in his book Crazy Love. If you haven’t already check it out. I’m re-reading it and seeing so many things about how I address my relationship with God that so not worthy of who He is and what He’s done to have a relationship with me.

Funny as I read this, Im struck by Genesis 4:3 thru 4:5. Maybe Im off base, but this culture seems to honor God half-heartedly. Avatar is a huge production rendered after a cartoon and books. Left Behind could have been a fantastic movie to Honor the Lord, but seemed thrown together

Thanks for this post- I am extremely passionate about this topic and I really struggle with those who have the attitude that something is “good enough” for church. Francis Schaeffer wrote an interesting book on this subject years ago titled “Addicted to Mediocrity”- has some interesting thoughts on both visual and performance arts. Perfection is not the goal but we should be able to identify with the phrase “workmen that need not be ashamed”.
