We use to refer to Boulder as "The Republic of Boulder." It's like visiting an alternate universe... and not funny - planting your flowers before Father's day ony to have them killed by the snow storm that alwasy follows that 80 degree day early June. Being from KS originally I just couldn't understand why in the world they were counting *6 straight days fo 90 degree temps* my first summer. And swamp coolers. Ask any of your KS friends what a swamp cooler is. I guarantee not ONE knows! Or don't ask - they'll think you are crazy for sure. :) we have taken our dodge minivan offroading... that was an adventure... and finally... I still have to picture the mountains to get my grip on direction here. sure miss them! THANKS FOR SHARING! Loved it! We know were slipping and sliding! How would beeping and flashing dash lights help us? Thanks. Although Grant didn't write about this event, he did write about the skiing that day. One of the best I've had. Ever. Besides I moved to N. Carolina shortly after this so there isn't any use skiing now.
