It was a great message and one that has stuck with me. Sort of like "iron sharpens iron" but in a family setting. So I believe your insights are spot on. This pastor also said that marriage was God's first ministry - the first relational resource He blessed and that the Kingdom of God can be advanced thru marriage when seen as a ministry/blessing from God - if we steward it as a resource we have been entrusted with.
