Snowing

It’s snowing here today. I love the snow. It makes me happy.

Not the giddy, school-girl giggling kind of happy – just…content.

And it’s a good thing it’s snowing today. We sold our house – for a lot less than we wanted but more than what we paid for it. My power supply went out on my laptop but Ray’s got an extra one he’s going to let me borrow. My windshield wipers are shot and not designed for snow but winter blades were on sale at Wal-mart.

I’m impatient at the pace we’re moving as a student ministry but God continues to give me snapshots of potential.

And it’s snowing. My kids don’t realize that this is the first of many. They think this is it for year and we’ve got to enjoy it while it is here. I remember being that way when it snowed. Life haults, problems cease for the next few hours while we build snow forts, plan snow-attacks, and make snow-angels.

So overall…a good day.

I like the “life stops for a few hours” part. I went deer hunting today. Didn’t shoot the little does I saw, but life stopped for a few hours while sitting in the woods. I need more of that. And I can’t wait for our ONE snow of the year.

I’m glad it’s you and not me. 22 years of Iowa snow was enough for me. I think I’ll go swimming now!

I envy you! We experienced the same thing three years ago, our first snow. It was in Bled, Slovenia with the Seelys and a few other families. This year on that same fall break we spent the day at the ocean in Florida swimming in the sun. Quite a contrast. I miss the snow.

I don’t like you anymore. I’ll take snow over sadn any day.
