Meltdown
I found out that one of our former students in Emporia was killed in an ATV accident this week.
I’ve lost it completely a couple times since hearing the news – it just grieves my heart to the core.
Sam was a fun kid – even when he got in trouble, you liked him. And he never stayed in trouble for very long. Just a lot of fun to be with.
I’m sitting in Little Rock wishing I was in Emporia but I know if I was in Emporia I’d be just as worthless there as I am here.
There are no words.

I recently returned to the church where I was a youth pastor (for 14 years) to be part of the funeral for a former youth group kid who died in a car accident…driving home after a party. Over 1000 people came out for the service. Heart wrenching to talk and share with his parents and brothers. They will never be the same.
So sorry to hear of this tragic accident. My daughter lost two of her best friends in a car accident a few years ago, I still miss those girls! And know I always will.
The death of a young person is especially hard to take.
G – I’m as much at a loss for words now as I was when I lost Karen. I am praying for you – for God’s Spirit to minister to and comfort your soul.
As a former youth pastor, I know where you’re at. There are no words…
With you in prayer…God’s peace
