The Purpose of the Martins

In terms of amount of time known – they are newbies. Blog-met a few months back, then actually went over to their house over spring break.

In terms of amount of teasing, harassing, reading, and encouraging – we’ve known each other since middle school.

I’m talking of course about Paul and “Catbird” Martin. (Cathy doesn’t like her real name to be used over the web. Something about security and refering to herself in 3rd person. I kinda tuned out in the middle of the explaination.)

They are spelling aficionado. Exhibit A. Exhibit B. People of particular focus and detail.

I’m thinking about having a once a week guest blog with either Paul or Catbird. It would be called – This Week’s Spelling and Usage Errors on the G sides.

Because you know, can’t be having a blog that’s all jacked up in spelling and usage.

usage is an anagram of sewage

okay, maybe not, but it should be

Awesome! My first blog would be on how postmodern writers (that would be all of them, right?) misuse the word “then” instead of “than”. I will of course have to give examples from theooze and comments from tallskinnykiwi to prove it, but that won’t be hard.

True Confessions: when I read Paul’s blog and find a typo, I login and change it. My version of love, I guess. I also obsessively read my posts about 3 times before I hit “publish” checking for typos and spelling errors. Then I read it one more time once it’s published. I’m sure you’ve probably noticed that I link to Merriam-Webster online, as well.
It’s a sickness. I’m glad it serves your purposes, though.
BTW, I also noticed the “Dead of Alive”, but just couldn’t bring myself to correct you again.
