John 5-6

Is there any doubt that Jesus thought he was God? I’m convicted by Jesus’ words – “I don’t do anything without the Father doing it first. I only move when He tells me to.”

Another convicting moment at the end of chapter 5 when Jesus says that He’s not in this for crowd approval. “I know you and I know the crowds and I know that God’s love is not on your working agenda.”

He’s talking to religious leaders. God’s love is not on your agenda. How insulting is that? Yet, true.

Jesus proves this kind of talk in the next chapter – feeding the 5,000 then watching a lot of his followers leave when He tells them they must eat his flesh if they want anything to do with the Kingdom.
